The Music Development Office (MDO) is the South Australian Government’s specialist area within CreateSA, supporting and strengthening a thriving, sustainable contemporary original music sector.

The MDO develops policy, and delivers strategic initiatives, funding programs and industry partnerships designed to strengthen the music ecosystem and support long-term industry growth.

The MDO’s 2026 -2028 music development strategy, A Sound Future, will be delivered to enable South Australia’s music industry to perform, create and thrive, and audiences across the state to benefit from our rich music culture.
